In 1995 AudioSports began as just an idea for one large car stereo sound-off event in Perry, Georgia. That first event, held in June 1996, launched a sound-off & car show event planning company that grew to the point of coordinating hundreds of car audio and custom car show events each year in over 30 states under the rules of IASCA, dB Drag Racing and later, SLAPshow.
Kicking and screaming, we changed the way events, especially car stereo sound-offs, were ran. Procedures and judging were streamlined so events could end in a timely manner. People new to the hobby don't realize this, but at one time it was common for awards to be handed out late at night. Registration fees were always 50 dollars or more. Judging took forever and was far from consistant.
We changed that.
As custom car shows became a larger part of the events, the branding and website was changed to www.SLAPshow.com (Sound Looks And Performance). The original website domain name www.AudioSportsUSA.com was abandoned until now. Welcome back!
The sound-off scene has changed considerably over the years. AudioSports changed and continues to do so. AudioSports' new direction for 2008 will be to serve as a web portal for all things related to car audio sound-offs -- regardless of the sanctioning body -- dB Drag, IASCA, MECA, USACi, even non-sanctioned events. Our goal is to support and promote the entire hobby, not play politics.
This site will be your source for car stereo competition event listings, coverage, tips and information. We'll soon be adding many new features to make this site one of your favorites.
There's some exciting things on the horizon for AudioSports. Stay Tuned & CRANK IT UP!
